“I've literally written the book on the psychology behind marketing; what happens to us emotionally, biologically and chemically when we engage with any and all kinds of media, from images to books to 3-second videos and to full length movies” (“MIGRATION” by Ian Jaydid).
After years of marketing for every need and scenario, from the individual entrepreneur who simply wants a great, eye-catching logo - to the large business looking for a powerful, full-length commercial that connects to a specific group of clients, I've learned that marketing is far more complex than simply “grabbing someone's attention” with brute force. A successful marketing and design coordinator has to take the time to learn who the customers are, what the audience’s background looks like and what motivates them. When it comes to advertising, graphic design is never a 'One Size Fits All”, linear process. Today, most “high-end” designers in the world of marketing don't tend to think fields like psychology and sociology are relevant to their job, so they don't bother to learn who they are trying to connect with. This results in clients forking over a small fortune to flashy design companies who have little more than one, clever trick up their sleeve. And they will continue to throw that same, basic trick at each and every project and obstacle that crosses their desk.
Furthermore, so many designers forget they have a duty to not create unnecessary and/or “custom” media when they're charging their client by the hour. For instance, I find it absurdly unethical for a graphic artist to spend an hour creating a custom “lightning bolt” for an ad when there's literally thousands of copyright-free lightning bolt designs online, which look every bit as good and take mere moments to customize for the task at hand. If my client prefers that each and every element of their advertisement be custom built, I'm more than happy to oblige. Otherwise, I'm always going to utilize every tool at my disposal that results in both the least expensive final price tag and a product that doesn’t compromise on quality.
Whether you're looking for nothing but a new logo for your company, or even a custom painting, or a hand-drawn illustration, or – my favorite - a full video commercial complete with special effects and music, I know I can create something phenomenal for you that fits your needs and your budget.”
